ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM (MODERN ART) reproductions
Abstract Expressionism was an American movement which formed after WWII. The term was first used to describe Wassily Kandinsky’s work.The movement is largely influenced by the Surrealist movement. It concentrates on making art more automatic and/or spontaneous. Abstract Expressionism generally describes works of a group of NewYork based artists whose works did not necessarily have much in common. The movement had a large influence on Pop Art and Minimalism among others.
The most important representatives were Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning.
