ROMANTICISM reproductions
Romanticism developed in Western Europe in the second half of the 18th century. The style was emotional and was meant to emphasise the aesthetic experience. Many Romantic works veered away from the Industrial feel that was overwhelming in cities and everyday life in an attempt to depict the importance of purity. Francisco Goya is thought by many to be the most prominent and representative artist of the Romantic era. Another important representative of French Romanticism is Eugene Delacroix.
