ROCOCO reproductions

Rococo developed during the 18th century and was generally a style implemented in interior design, although it also had it’s representatives in art. In painting Rococo can be seen through the use of generally soft colours and curvaceous forms and shapes. Rococo is more frivolous and sensuous than the strict Baroque and Renaissance styles.
The first Rococo painter is considered to be Jean-Antoine Watteau and he greatly influenced other Rococo painters such as Francois Boucher and later the British, Thomas Gainsborough who was famous for his portraits.
